Not convinced yet?

Read this – and you’ll be there too:

Because cross-country skiing offers the ideal combination of training and nature experience.

Because cross-country skiing is the best prevention. Cross-country skiers live longer. For Prof. Dr. Ralf Roth from the Cologne Sport University, this now outdated slogan is still very relevant. From a health and preventative point of view, it is an almost perfect form of exercise, says the renowned sports scientist. It is easy on the joints and trains the leg and core muscles as well as the often neglected shoulder girdle. Cross-country skiing promotes strength endurance and strengthens coordination and balance.

Because there are practically no age limits and few other restrictions for cross-country skiing.

Because there are unusually varied and diverse cross-country ski trails in Austria … and one right on our doorstep!

Because cross-country skiing means little effort before and after. Cross-country skiing is a stress-free winter sport (exactly 20 steps from the hotel door to the cross-country ski trail) The equipment is easy and convenient to transport. Strap on your skis and off you go. Organize your day individually, take breaks in between. Not having to run, but wanting to run and enjoy it.

Because with cross-country skiing you are very flexible and not dependent on others. Move when and how you want. This is also one of the advantages of cross-country skiing. You can cross-country ski alone or in a group, at any time of day and for as long as it is fun and good for your body.

Because with cross-country skiing it doesn’t matter whether you have branded clothing or expensive skis. Cross-country skiers know no social pressure. You run without stress. The brands of clothing and skis are irrelevant here. This is about sport and personal well-being. And that is very relaxing.

Because you can also enjoy a refreshment stop while cross-country skiing. Exactly – in the first SLOW FOOD TRAVEL REGION in the world – the trail is right next to the producer – mmmhhh – a slow food trail with the best isotonic drink on board! The alcohol-free FREEPA or HAZY NEIPA

Because cross-country skiing can be really entertaining.

Because cross-country skiing is simply endless fun and puts a smile on your face.

FIS rules of conduct for cross-country skiers

Correct behavior is important when cross-country skiing. For a relaxed and harmonious run, there are simple rules of conduct for using the trails. Follow these 10 points and enjoy this great sport.

All cross-country skiers must behave in such a way that they do not endanger or harm others.

Markings and signals (signs) must be observed. On cross-country ski trails and pistes, you must ski in the direction and using the technique indicated.

On double and multiple lanes, you must ride in the right-hand lane. Cross-country skiers in groups must run in the right lane one behind the other. Free running technique is to be used on the piste on the right.

You may overtake on the right or left. The runner in front does not have to take evasive action, but should do so if this is possible without risk.

When meeting, everyone must move to the right. The downhill skier has priority.

When overtaking, being overtaken and during encounters, the poles must be kept close to the body.

Every cross-country skier must adapt their speed and behavior to their ability, the terrain conditions, traffic density and visibility, especially on downhill stretches. He must maintain a sufficient safety distance from the runner in front. If necessary, he has to drop down to prevent a collision.

If you stop, you step off the trail/piste. A fallen cross-country skier must clear the trail/piste as quickly as possible.

Everyone is obliged to provide assistance in the event of accidents.

Everyone, whether witness or participant, whether responsible or not, must provide their personal details in the event of an accident.
